That once you reported your passport stolen or lost,... your next new passport will only be valid for a year instead of the usual 5 yrs?
And everyone knows that once the expiry date is just 6 months away, your passport is as good as being expired!...
SO.........my mum actually paid RM 300 just to be faced with the fact that her new passport that she went up and down to make police report and went all the way to immigration office 2-3 times for.... will only be valid for 6 months....
My mum lost her passport b4 to some robbers in Johor in 2003. and her new passport was just like any new passport!.. Validity --> 5 YRS!
So.. is this some new rule? If it is, how is this going to help? What does it do? And what's the reason for just one year validity? ARE THEY CRAZY?!
It's sad and heartbreaking enough for her IC, passport, & money to be stolen..
It's really a piece of her heart torn apart. Such things always happen to people around us and it's equally as painful to hear each and every story.
No thanks to segelintir masyarakat Malaysia yang dikategori bawah SAMPAH.
Then now...
She has to pay RM 300 for just 6 months!
Yes.. i know that RM 300 is for 32 pages of passport or something and RM 600 is for 64.
But still... ppl so cham d they still wanna make the victims pay so much for their downfall.
No thanks to the Malaysian immigration ppl who may have no sympathy for robbery victims!

one year validity is absurd! was your mum duly informed when she applied for the new one? did the officers have anything to clarify? =/

my mum only found out about it when she was collecting the passport.
then she kept asking the person.. why like that.. when like that.. how come like that.. the person just smiled and shook his head like there's no reason to it.
