my australia trip... =)

finally... i've gathered enough strength and determination and set aside enough laziness and procrastination to do this post. :)

on 24th June afternoon, i really wanted to pinch myself and i cant stop reminding myself that i am finally flying to australia later at night for a 3 weeks vacation..
when i am in melbourne, i would be staying at loris'
when i am in adelaide, i would be staying at the girl (pk,my,krystal and sk)'s
when i am in sydney, i would be staying at uncle mane's
each place, i would be staying for around a week.
even though i would be flying alone from one place to another, but i'd be greeted by friends and family when i reach.. so... it is safe...........

below are the pictures which are... only less than 1% of the pictures that i've taken over the 3 weeks.. hahaha i am not kidding! i took over 8000 pictures but most of them are my camwhore pictures.. so.. nothing to show here.

sitting on an 8 hour flight alone is really lonely. but lucky, MAS provided really good entertainment and i sat there and watched the other boleyn girl, an episode of the simpsons, family guy and 1/2 episode of gossip girl. the reason why i turned off gossip girl was because ..... i cant remember actually.. but i think it was bcos they censored the steamy scenes or... i didnt like epi 1 actually and they only have that.. and also... a quite boring documentary of Annie Leibovitz - my favorite photographer ever!~.. go google her up on google images and u will be amazed by the photos she has taken!..

at around 4 am melbourne time.. i forced myself to sleep... when i woke up.. this is what i saw..
1 MINUTE MORE TO MELBOURNE!!!!!! and i looked outside. wow!!!.. the whole melbourne is like city of gold or something.. no mountain.. but just a vast piece of gold land... i felt like i am the luckiest girl on earth.. sorry.. i am easily pleased! =p..

melbourne airport.. i've never been to any angmoh country b4 so... i was not very used to seeing ang mohs everywhere and them serving me as i look for some stuffs.. it feels really funny. but melbourne airport is really nothing compared to KLIA.. like HELLO.... KLIA RULES!

i got more excited when i saw the trees and cars outside.. i RAN OUT.. i was only in my thin black qtr sleeve, jeans and thongs.. then as the door opened for me... i RAN BACK in.. hahhaha i didnt expect the wind would be that strong... it was super cold...! fresh out from the super hot and stuffy airport didnt help.
i love trees like this...! and ooh.. yellow cab!

then after loris and eelin came to fetch me back to their home, we stopped by mcd and when i saw bacon and egg on the menu... OF COURSE I WANT THAT RIGHT!?!??!?!
but it tasted OKOK.... i wont really scream for it..

next morning.... we cooked our own breakfast.. actually i think it was eelin and melvin who cooked.. ahhaha
i love the mushrooms!!!!!!!!!!

then in the afternoon, i met up with michelle and liyen.. i miss liyen so much!.. it has been 10 yrs since i last saw her!! i still remember i bumped into her, maylee and michelle in KLcc 1998.. AH .. we were so young then!

then later in the evening... at 7pm.. all of us bestarians went to Crystal Jade in Melbourne Chinatown to eat our dinner. it was very cosy and fun as they are all familiar faces and we were there just talking crap.. but crapping is fun.. the sad thing is ... if i am not wrong this dinner was for my welcome and benjy's farewell.. this fella just finished his exam on that day and he had to fly back to KL the next day.. WTH... i just arrived k?!..

i hate hate hate drinking... i hate the dizzyness and vomitting.. bla bla bla.. thank god loris was there to help me. i love her to bits!. then as i got into the car.. i passed out immediately.. and when we got back i slept again until 1 am.. then woke up.. pack.. until 3 am.. girl talk with eelin and loris until 4... then it was time to go to the airport to fly to Adelaide. HAHA.. i still remember when we reached the airport.. eelin and loris kept hugging me.. and i seriously hate to leave them as well.. I MISS EELIN AND LORIS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

THEN I WAS OFF TO ADELAIDE TO SEE MY DARLING JIMUIS!!!!

sk also another one. as i reach on the 4th.. she had to go back to KL on the 5th.. wht's with these ppl! but its ok la.. at least i can sleep in sk's room.. hehe

our dimsum breakfast in Adelaide.. the best dimsum in Australia i reckon! the prawns were soo fresh! the one in Sydney was so salty that u's suspect they threw in a packet of 100 gram salt!

the next day we were supposed to go barossa valley but due to uncertain circumstances.. the plan flopped so we went to hahndorf instead. where i have absolutely no idea what they have there..

Hahndorf did not disappoint me.. it's a quaint little german town that will bring u back to the 19th century.. everything's so old fashion there

Adelaide nights are much colder than Melbourne actually. In Melbourne it is much windier but not as chilly as Adelaide..

the most horrible thing that has ever landed on my tongue. this stupid dish is just chilli oil and some badly cooked chicken with taugeh underneath..

but this is nice!!! bacon, tomato, eggs. pancakes topped with something that tastes like butter but doesnt look like butter..

that was my last dinner in Adelaide. again i packed through the night.. and slept till 4 am..
all in all, i have to say.. if u are looking for a serene, peaceful vacation.. u have to come to Adelaide.. it is not as exciting as melb or syd but it is very relaxing and life is not rushed. and i have to thank my darling jimuis - pooikwan, mien and krystal for making my stay in Adelaide an enjoyable one and also.. i cant thank u enough for taking the time out to accompany me!... i truly truly appreciate that!! muaksss to my darlings!!

Adelaide airport at 5 am in the morning. was flying to sydney from adelaide on that morning. part of me felt lonely but part of me felt that i really grew up or something. i booked the tix online.. i went to the airport alone via taxi in the wee hours of morning. lucky my taxi driver was a malaysian chinese..he was from kedah.. so i felt really comfortable.. LUCKY!

horse riding with lynette..my aunt say i look like a star with the equestarian helmet. to me.. i think my face looks rounder than usual.

my uncle was adjusting the strap on my helmet.. after fitting the straps perfectly.. he clasped the buckle... and i screamed.. the buckle clasped together with my skin.. and the picture above depicts it.. even though its a small thing.. but it was f-ing painful.. and what didnt help was.. someone wanted to exchange the helmet with me .. after i unbuckled it.. she said she doesnt want it anymore.. so i buckled it back myself. .and there!!!!!.. my skin got clasped again!! WTF!!

the next day we went to canberra as it is halfway to the snowy mountains.. fyi canberra is the federal territory of Australia.. it is like the putrajaya of Malaysia.. where everywhere are government associated buildings.. and some small shops. and... nothing significant.. we stayed there overnight in my aunt's nephew's rented unit. that guy is a neat freak and i feel super pressured to avoid misplacing his things.. this is his room... u guys might think it is that neat and clean bcos we memang pun going there to stay.. of course clean la!.. but when u go there and see it urself u will believe that everyday... it stays like that.. no boys i know will keep their bed like that unless they have a maid!

toilet... sometimes toilet tells a lot about one person.. so the first thing i do when i get to someone's house i always look at their toilet.. and i am not very proud of it! this guy's toilet confirmed that he is a real neat person!.. he has a drawer filled with toiletries obtained from hotel rooms.. and if it were me i'd just throw everything in.. bla bla.. but HE.. stacked everything properly.. shower caps one side, soaps one side.. wth........ too free nothing to do. :S

seriously....... i am not even sure if i really liked skiing. if only i have the talent to ski in a snap. i had a lot of trouble balancing actually and taking skiing tips from my uncle who had trouble skiing as well did NOT help.. then at last he couldnt stand it.. he signed me up for skiing classes. the ski teacher taught us without the poles THEN only i got the hang of it.. wth... and the worst thing is b4 taking classes i kept falling... the time to stand up and balance myself is longer than i stood on snow.. the only one hour i didnt fall was during the class.. and the class took place on the very last hour of the rental of my skiing gear. wt$@#%#%

if u are asian.. never try asian food there.. cause everything is super salty!

my dear aunt vicki who paid for my phantom of the opera ticket. if it wasnt for her... i'd never have the chance to watch it even though if i have tonnes of cash.. so lucky to find someone who wants to watch it as well.

OK... that was my last night in Sydney.. i love sydney!! truthishly.. of all cities, i think i love sydney the most! it's very New York. even though i've never been to NYC, but i think this is the closest thing to it in the whole asia pacific.. like hello.. u see english words and everywhere there are angmohs.. in japan, singapore, korea - hmm not so much.

well if u wanna look for an asian bf/gf.. melbourne is definitely the place to go as the whole place is flooded with asian students and 50% of them are super cute.. so if u wanna study and get a cute bf/gf.. go there NOW!

if u want a relaxed, peaceful and slow pace life.. dont miss adelaide out.. bcos time really goes by slowly there.

if u want a city life.. be surrounded by tall buildings, get artsy - both modern and historical, and walk through heaps of crowds.. hmm sydney is the place for u!.. u will be amazed by what sydney has to offer in each and every corner. hah.. i am going to miss that place!.. seriously.. if i have the money, i'd def fly back there and go to places i did not manage to go due to lack of time..

overall... if u ask me what i hate the most about australia.. it'd definitely be the fact that all retail shops close at 5 PM!! and also.. during winter, the sky gets dark at 5-6.. wtf..
but during summer.. at 8 oclock the sun is still up in the sky.. ok that feels really weird.
