my tiramisu attempt..

some of the ingredients needed..
n i love my eggyolks.. thanks to sk who taught me how to separate the eggs!
gotta give this girl some credit for helping me out...!
the concoction of 5 eggyolks, 1 egg white, 4 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tubes of mascarpone cheese.

me folding the concoction
dipping ladyfingers into the coffee.. a very tricky job!
the base and the first layer of the tiramisu

the 3rd layer.. notice the last biscuit? hehehe.. it just broke.. i dipped it into the coffee for just that extra one second then bcome like that d.
woo lala... pouring in the top layer..
that stupid last biscuit is really a pain in the eye.. too soft that it kinda just floated..

TA-DA!.. ready to b put in the fridge

4 hours later.. the biscuits floated.. hehe.. sk said that they look like hotdogs.. here it really looked like hotdogs swimming in a pool of cheese!! hahaha..

i know.. the cocoa powder is too much.. HAHAHAH.. when i ate it. i almost choked..! but i did not eat it instantly after i sprinkled the cocoa powder.. i sprinkled it at 8 pm..went out.. i came back at 11 to eat it.. but i guess the layer of chocolate powder is too thick that the top layer is far from wet..

i would have to say.. it tasted ok!!.. the cheese tastes great.. but.. the biscuit is really too soft..! like.. bread soaked in water. .ahahahah..

I WANNA THANK EVONNE WHO TAUGHT ME HOW TO MAKE THE TIRAMISU!
I WANNA THANK SAU KUAN WHO TOOK THESE PICTURES FOR ME AND GAVE ME A HELPING HAND! she is really good in all these stuffs..

i seriously thought that i could handle it myself.. hehe.. but i really did not want actclever ppl come and criticize the things that i do and expect me to be a pro when i am clearly not and give critical comments until i feel that i have no future in the kitchen.. i am so sorry to b so negative but there is really such person in my family.. :S..

Hey mei wen xD Great first attempt haha! I must add that the mix is waaaaay too soft. I think you must've let the cheese melt too much or you mixed too much. The cheese should be of thick cream consistency but firm and can hold it's shape.

The biscuits are suppose to be soft. Did you hold it up to drain some of the coffee out after you have dipped it into the coffee? If you did that, it should not be so soggy.

Don't worry about not getting it 100% right the first time. Cooking is also about practice and practice makes perfect. Even Jamie Oliver had to start out somewhere. :)

My first tiramisu was not a perfect 10 either so don't get so upset and negative about it. Keep trying out the recipe and call me whenever you need any help :) I mean it :D

I'm very proud of you for trying to make something! Congratulations, girl! You should be proud of yourself too!

haha... thanks.. yea.. i surprised myself for really taking the initiative to make at least something!

oh.. so that means.. the egg and cheese concoction.. i shouldnt 'fold' too long la?.. once i throw in the cheese.. fold a bit..then can d?.. i was thinking of mixing them longer the next time i make tiramisu. hehe

ok.. er.. the biscuit got soft like in a millisecond.. so.. hehe.. n i broke a few.. so. .yea.. i forgot all about draining the coffee.. THANKS!!!.. i was like thinking.. where did i do wrong? i was thinking of just rolling the biscuit around the coffee powder on my next attempt...!
and i think my coffee was more than warm too..

thanks evonne.. you've been a great help to me.. cant thank u enough!.. love ya.. and i will definitely call when i need help.. cause i beh paiseh!
